The Steak Mafia Dinner #7
This blogger doesn't want to startle anyone, but he is compelled to post the review of tonights dinner, ON THE SAME DAY! Hot on the heels of 2009, the first gathering of The Steak Mafia 2010 was magnificent!
With 2 new guests in tow, Aaron Edwards and Sam Da Wool, both recent Ontario High grads, the New Year was rang in to sounds of sizzling steak. On Saturday, 1/16/2010, The Steak Mafia visited Taylor's Steakhouse, hidden in Koreatown just west of Downtown L.A. At the urging (begging) of this blogger TSM finally ventured outside of the IE for some city steak. Between the groans and smacking of lips, everyone agreed that Taylor's served up the best Rib-eye in the short history of the TSM.

Art: very delicious steak! one of the best ribeyes I've ever had. A little pricey but worth it. Great ambience, restaurant was cool inside.
Gil: Best ribeye I've had at a steakhouse!!!
Mitchell: great service, very attentive, Ramo's special sauce was the perfect compliment, sides m'eh, steak cooked perfect! medium rare, great ambience, Rat-Pack ghosts hanging out with us, 1st Class all the way around, old school, huge cut, tender, perfectly marbled, 2nd best ribeye ever (no separate checks)
Kelly: It was so good that I poo'ed before I came!
Sammy: Great meal - Great service, drinks never went dry
Aaron: Delicious steak, creamed spinach side was so-so. Ramo was a great waiter, he made a side sauce with horseradish and steak sauce which was awesome. Great 1st steak! The restaurant "look" was great. Homey, a little dark, small, and had a great old-school feel to it.
The Steak Mafia Dinner #6
Welcome fellow steak lovers!
2009 went out with a sizzle and I hope everyone got a nice Rib-eye or Porterhouse in their stocking. (FYI, I happen to know Santa personally, and he likes a juicy reindeer steak every once in a while.) On November 20, the Steak Mafia convened at Lonestar Steakhouse in Corona. Now, yours truly was a little skeptical about going to a more commercial steakhouse, (they don't even let you spit tobacco on the floor at this fancy place,) and by the time I arrived in Corona after 2 1/2 hours on the road, I was a bit ornery. However, after a schooner of beer (extra points for schooners,) and a few bites of my steak, the road rage subsided. The Steak Mafia welcomed a new attendee, Jeff Anderson, and the FNG was a good sport about wearing the apron. Overall reviews were good, much higher than expected, and everyone had a greasy grin on their face by the time dinner was over. Separate checks were allowed and the every half hour the waiters all stop and join in a song and dance routine (must suck to be them) so they don't take themselves too seriously. Decent effort Lonestar.

Godfather: Steak was delicious, not the best but definitely worth another trip, liked all the TVs showing football.
Gil: Steak came well done, (pissed) sent it back, came back rare & good, probably got tossed, stepped & pissed on - but it was good.
Mitchell: great bread, honey butter, schooners of beer!, filet side of the porterhouse cut like butter, for a chain: amazing, attentive service, pale ale on tap.
Kelly: Decent steak. not the best but met all expectations. Don't have to poo though, so something isn't right. Oh wait! I poo'd! Now its complete.
Kris: 1. Presentation- a little bright, 2.Service- wanted to drink my beer not wear it!! and was still charged for it!, 4. Tenderness- Filet was alittle well [done] but New York was good, 5. Side Dishes- steak soup not bad. Wedge salad more blue cheese, 7. Over-all Experience- service ruined what could have been a good dinner
Studio: Big goblet beer mugs were sweet... Cajun spice Rib-eye was fuckin bomb
Matthew: waiter was horrible! If you can't get at least 6 out of 9 orders right, time to find a new job! The steak soup was the best!
Humpty: Had a great time! I love the beer mugs. and the steak was real good, also pumped my bass player, Jeff Anderson came out! Now it's time to get fucked up!
Jeff Anderson: Great flavor of cajun seasonings, cooked perfect! Thanks for inviting me.
